Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

The short version

DayEcho works entirely on your device. Your photos never leave your iPhone. We don't have servers storing your images, we don't collect personal data, and we don't track you. That's the whole story — but read on for the full details.

Who we are

DayEcho is developed and published by Supermassive Digital, a one-person studio based in the UK.

If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at: info@supermassive.digital

What data DayEcho accesses

Your photo library

DayEcho requests access to your iPhone's photo library to surface memories from previous years on this day. This access is:

Read-only — DayEcho never modifies, deletes, or adds to your photos

On-device only — your images are processed entirely on your iPhone and are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared

Under your control — you can change or revoke photo access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos

You can choose to grant access to your full library or a limited selection. DayEcho works with whatever access you provide.

Notifications

If you enable daily notifications, DayEcho uses Apple's on-device notification system to remind you to check your memories. No notification content or interaction data is sent to us.

What data we collect

None.

DayEcho does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. There are no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting services, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party trackers in the app.

iCloud and backups

DayEcho stores a small amount of preference data (such as your notification settings) locally on your device. This data may be included in standard iCloud or iTunes backups governed by Apple's own privacy policy. DayEcho does not independently use iCloud or any cloud storage.

Children's privacy

DayEcho does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. As the app collects no personal information at all, it is suitable for use by anyone with a photo library they'd like to revisit.

Your rights

Because DayEcho collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete on request. All data the app uses lives on your device and is entirely within your control.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at info@dayecho.app and we'll respond as quickly as we can.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. As DayEcho is a privacy-first app with no data collection, significant changes are unlikely.
